This special section is provided to give you a peek at some of our members' personal stories. Any club is only as strong as its people and we have a quality membership. Each month members receive an E-Newsletter (The Sierra Rider) that includes a profile on one of our members. This helps us get to know each other a little better and by posting them here, it will help you become acquainted with us too. (Remember there will be a new one posted each month.)
IN SUMMARY:
The Sierra Shadow Casters are an interesting and diverse group of people. Our members come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds; many own their own business or are professionals. Some are retired, or act like they are! All of our members have good reputations and intend to keep it that way.
Our ages range from 20's to 60's (no one acts like 60 though!) and an impressive number of our members are women who ride their own. The bikes are as diverse as their riders. We don't really care what you ride - some of our more hardcore members don't even own bikes! Seriously!
We are called the Sierra Shadow Casters but just as we don't care what you ride, we don't really care where you live either. Some of our members are from the "Valley" and enjoy coming up to ride with their "mountain friends" in the awesome Sierra Nevada --heck we've even been know to ride down to the "flat lands"!
Basically however, the majority of our members hail from Mariposa, Oakhurst, LaGrange, North Fork and Coulterville areas. If these are your general stomping grounds we are your MC!
Everyone has a story and an interesting tale (tall or otherwise) and to us they're all significant and worth hearing. If you are among the minority of people who ride you are special (not better) and we are glad to have ya as a riding friend.
If you ride you already know the "caliber" of riders has significantly changed since the 60's but worth at least a casual mention here, just for the record, our members are all law-abiding citizens (ok so we may break a speed limit now and then). We are not "hell-raisers" nor trouble makers, we're just a growing group of fun-loving bikers who like a good (preferably warm) wind in the face and the sound of a well-tuned engine beneath us.
